In early 2024, CAT Designs took its first flame right here in Sri Lanka.
It started with a simple problem: finding well-designed, high-quality home items that were actually worth their price. After countless disappointments with imported brands and cheap imitations, we decided to make our own.
With a deep love for design and a desire to make luxury more personal and accessible, we began pouring candles — one by one — from our home studio. What followed was nothing short of magic.

At the heart of CAT Designs is Upeksha Colombaarachchi, a designer with a deep love for beauty, balance, and meaningful details.
A graduate of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia, Upeksha holds a BA (Hons) in Interior Architecture. Her training in design isn’t just something she studied, it’s something she lives and breathes into every candle we create.
With a natural eye for space, texture, and feeling, she ensures each CAT candle isn’t just visually stunning, but emotionally grounding. Whether it’s the curve of a jar, the tone of a label, or the way a scent fills a room — Upeksha brings thoughtful intention to every step.
She personally leads every aspect of the creative process — from shaping custom candle designs and developing signature scents, to crafting personalized packaging and building brand collaborations for events, gifts, and businesses.
But more than that, Upeksha’s vision for CAT Designs goes beyond candles. She’s working toward building a brand that gives back — with a long-term mission to launch a foundation supporting women’s and children’s health and safety across Sri Lanka.
Her belief is simple but powerful: When something is made with love, people can feel it.

Every candle is fully customizable — from scent and wax color to jar, label, and packaging — designed to fit your story.
